I haven't posted anything in SO LONG, I feel bad. Been very busy with work, unfortunately.
This is one of my two bettas- the large female with extra long fins. She almost looks like a male, but has a rounded body and a visible ovipositor, so definitely not a male body type.
She is a very fast swimmer, so all of her pics turned out blurry.
Some details on the setup: It is a Mr. Aqua rimless 3-gallon bowfront aquarium.
Artificial plants hot-glued to tank bottom under black sand substrate.
I perform weekly water changes (35%) with reconstituted RO/DI water. Because she lives alone and I'm religious about the water changes, a filter was not critical. A heater would be used in the winter when the room temperature drops below 75 degrees. Her tank is usually around 78-80 degrees, as I live in sunny San Diego.
Feedings are daily. She loves live fruit flies, and will also take standard Hikari betta pellets and Hikari frozen bloodworms and daphnia.
Light is a Azoo Flexi Mini Planted tank LED light. (I used to grow real plants in there, but they needed CO2 and I ended up losing interest in the constant maintenance.)
